Paper labels, which are basically embedded spiral aerials in the paper, can be disabled at the cashier using a deactivation device. This process is nothing more than eliminating the signal transmitting feature of the label. Disabling plastic tags is a mechanical process, and the cashier uses a powerful magnet to simply remove the tag from the product (typically clothing articles and shoes). Paper labels and plastic tags accommodate the size and colour of the goods.
NEDAP products include receivers with various power and shape to suit the devices of the relevant shop. They can even be used as advertising media, but transparent aerials are also available in our product range. Nedap gates have been installed in the following chain stores:
Customer counter: the number of visitors to the shop can be monitored with the help of a special infrared barrier installed in the receivers at the exit. Comparing customer counter data with the data of the check-out desk gives an outstanding possibility to determine how many of the visitors become potential buyers.
Metal detection: there are receiver aerials in the NEDAP portfolio that are able to detect customer bags or coats with metal foil lining inside to provide a discrete signal to the security guard or shop staff when a suspicious customer enters the store.
EASiNet: the NEDAP product protection system installed in the store can be further expanded with a special internet-based remote monitoring module (EASiNet) that enables our employees to remotely check and investigate the normal system operation and repair it remotely when necessary. The system provides the customer with statistics essential for analysing the business, such as the number of customers visiting the store, the number of disabled labels or plastic tags, the time and number of alarms, time and number of shutdowns.
Employees can view this data on the WEB interface in the form of tables and charts. For example, employees sitting in the headquarters of a chain store can keep track of the number of visitors and distribution of visitors over the day in a store located in a different country. The data can be analysed based on marketing and sales considerations, and an action plan can be drawn up if only few people (number of disabling at the check-out point) become customers (number of visitors).
If necessary, the experienced staff of the company can provide advice on product safety and can design the most optimal receiver configuration as well as install the system. We also undertake servicing and maintenance work on existing NEDAP equipment.
